Register to Attend or Volunteer

RSVPing in advance for a time slot means you will have priority over walk-ins (only within the time slot you signed up - not if you show up earlier or later). We encourage everyone who plans on attending to RSVP in advance for convenience, but also because it helps us prepare for the event and speeds up the check-in process.

Are you a tinkerer, a mender, or do you like to problem-solve? Become a volunteer fixit coach! Attempt to fix alongside fellow community members to bring new life to items! Or, simply attend an upcoming Fixit Clinic with your broken item and come ready to learn alongside the pros.

Program Overview

LB Recycles, in partnership with Algalita, Pedal Movement, the LB Reuses coalition, and Long Beach Time Exchange is excited to host Fixit Clinics throughout Long Beach in 2025. These clinics offer residents a chance to breathe new life into broken household items with the help of skilled volunteer Fixit coaches—all at no cost!

By repairing items at a Fixit Clinic, you can save money, reduce landfill waste and gain valuable repair skills to use at home. Even if a repair doesn’t succeed, you’ll leave with knowledge that helps you troubleshoot and fix other items in the future.

Fixit Clinics are a nationwide effort to reduce waste and promote sustainability. Last year, Los Angeles County Public Works supported three Fixit Clinics in Long Beach, drawing over 50 attendees and 15 volunteers who repaired nearly 1,000 pounds of household items. These clinics align with LB Reuses’ mission to reduce single-use plastics and waste through community engagement, advocacy and collaboration. In 2025, the City of Long Beach and its partner organizations are working together to continue bringing Fixit Clinics to the community in an effort to reduce waste through repair!

Community members are encouraged to bring broken items such as:

  • Electronics
  • Bicycles
  • Watches
  • Jewelry
  • Toys
  • Clothes
  • Small appliances
  • Anything else small enough to carry.

Let’s work together to repair, reuse and reduce waste while building a stronger, more sustainable Long Beach!
